Opening in Vancouver: West Elm Market

This September, interiors chain West Elm opened it’s doors in Vancouver on South Granville. Now, just in time for the holidays, West Elm is bringing us a second concept store, right next door! West Elm MARKET – the first in Canada – will open this Thursday, December 20th at 2915 Granville St. Only the second freestanding MARKET store, it will feature not only a great selection of household “tools”, but also a cafe and workshop space.

In anticipation of Thursday’s opening, I’ve selected a few of my favourite MARKET items from the website, but what I’m most looking forward to is checking out the locally and regionally sourced products – though part of the larger Williams Sonoma Inc, West Elm shows great support to local artisans and community initiatives. In the New Year, you may just find me sitting at their community table for a class or two…

In the meantime, let West Elm MARKET make your holiday a little bit easier, with these functional and stylish tools:

  1. Krups Citrus Press, for the perfect brunch-time mimosas
  2. Recycled Wine Punt Glassware
  3. Tala Storage Canister Set, keeping everything in its place and sitting pretty
  4. Schmidt Brothers 15pc Knife Set with Block, stylishly space-saving and always at hand
  5. Slate & Wood Boards
  6. Enamel Cast Iron Dutch Oven, making one-pot meals even more delicious

  1. I’ve been stewing over what would define the perfect Christmas gift for my daughter’s Grade 4 teacher; a young woman whose dedication and kindness knows no bounds. I refuse to go the “Starbucks Gift Card” route for someone so important, but can’t go overboard either (because that would be weird.) Thank you for solving my dilemma with this post! I’ll be the heading to West Elm on South Granville today for a teacher’s gift, and probably many more “thank you” gifts as well! (suck up to me now, friends!)
